For those of us who installed the 5384 that was just released, Is that it or will we get options of d/l and trying newer versions? If this is what I have to live with for the next year, I will find as many as I can and then go back to my XP install. There are too many things wrong (mainly like my DELL A940 Printer wont load so I cant print anything!). If there are going to be made available more builds (I have done beta's on 95, 98, Millenium, XP) I will stick with it and try them all out and report.
thanks!

Is this it?
You should check with your printer manufacturer for drivers. Manufacturers not MS supply drivers.

Well, you are only seeing one aspect of the development stage, what Microsoft wants is feedback on things that are not right in the OS for you right now. Going back to XP is not going to solve anything when you decide later in year you might want to move to Vista. At least test the OS now, send in feedback on whats wrong, at least you will know you got feedback in and have a likely possibility of seeing it fixed in RC1 or RTM or sometime after. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

If you are using the public beta your next drop will be RC1. It depends on what program you are in. The TechBeta and TAP folks get refreshes while the public testers only get milestones.

Will the TechBeta folks be able to tell us what fixes and new drivers are included in the refreshes without violating their NDA? Paula

Probably. Many of them have blogs and comment there.
TechBeta is certainly not under NDA, so that is not an issue. The TAP folks usually are under some kind of an NDA.

There Will Be No More Interim Releases As: The Private Beta Has Been Superseded By The Public Beta, Just FYI.
The Next Release For Everyone (Except Microsoft Employee's) Is Release Candidate 1, Which Is Currently Due Out On August 15th, 2006, Also Just FYI.

You're welcome. By the way, if you open the Vista Help and Support Center and navigate to communities you can reach a lot of blogs by choosing "Windows Vista Resources for IT Pros" under Other Resources in the left pane below the list of newsgroups. Look for the Windows Vista Team Blog link on the right under Featured Communities. There is real substance there.

Kevin; That may be what you want, but it does not match past history and I doubt it will change this time. The public Beta did not supersede the private Technical Beta since the Technical Beta is very much alive.

The Private Beta will soon be Cancelled due to Severe Private Beta Tester Inactivity in the Private Beta Newsgroups, just FYI.
